MK January 17
From the Editor
It’s over, and I made it (thank goodness), not without consuming a week’s worth of calories in one day, but it was a lovely Christmas time spent with friends and family. And there’s always January for shedding the pounds... after all, it is the month of lettuce, broccoli, juicing and exercise. Happy New Year everyone! Welcome to January.
Perhaps the biggest thing happening in Milton Keynes this year is, we’re 50! Yes, 50 years old! And to celebrate Milton Keynes Council is co-ordinating a programme of events, more commonly referred to as ‘MK50’. The events aim to tell the story of 50 years of Milton Keynes. MK50 is an opportunity to discover the city – its history, its landscape, its architecture, its culture and its people.
And MK’s people, communities and organisations are coming together to celebrate – you can read about some of the celebrations inside this month and over the year we’ll be bringing you more information and letting you know how you can get involved.
For now though, there is a website (www.mk50.co.uk) which will be updated throughout the birthday year with the latest news and events, and you can follow the celebrations on Twitter @CultureMK or use #MK50 to hear more. Watch this space.
If you like to holiday and still feel like you’re in your own home, then you might be interested in the Caravan, Camping & Motorhome Show 2017. It’s at the NEC in February and we have five pairs of tickets to give away. Just answer the simple question on page 40 for a chance of winning. Good luck!
Don’t forget that we love to hear from you, so if you use Social Media you can like us on Facebook or send us a Tweet. And if you are organising any events from February onwards you can use our What’s On pages to tell readers about it – just get in touch or use the hashtag #whatsonpulse.
Enjoy the month folks and I’ll see you all in February.
