MK March 2016
From the Editor
The third month of 2016 already and with it comes the meteorological beginning of Spring. In my garden, daffodils and tulips began waking from their wintery slumber way back in January, so how on earth can we tell when one season starts and another ends?
Easter is early this year, as is Mother’s Day, so I do hope you have prepared ahead and planned to spoil your mum with some special treats. Talking of Easter, inside we have a great giveaway as Hotel Chocolat is offering a ‘Rocky Road Extra-Thick Easter Egg’ if you can answer their simple question; it’s worth £27, looks delicious and is currently under lock and key in my office as my team have been eyeing it up! Make sure you enter and be quick.
Our resident beauty expert, Gail Spooner returns this month with her quarterly beauty tips. She kicks off with the latest colour trends from Pantone® and #PulseBeauty is loving some of the latest colours from Dior and Christian Louboutin. Gail also provides expert advice on achieving flawless skin for your wedding and offers her ‘must-have’ products to help you get through your big day. If you have any questions for Gail remember you can Tweet her using the hashtag #PulseBeauty and she will do her best to help.
Now, we all know how famous Bletchley Park is (mainly because of the code-breakers), but how many of us actually know that it wasn’t confined just to the Park and that in fact many of the areas around Buckinghamshire, not only supported the secret war but played an integral part? We highlight one such area and that is Whaddon. Now the information is no longer classed as ‘secret', one man who worked in and around Whaddon tells his story – turn to page 30 for more.
We have two car reviews this month – the Kia Venga and the Honda Jazz, as well as our usual gardening tips and a jam-packed What’s On guide. If you are planning any events for April make sure you get in touch and we can help publicise it for you.
The Business Achievement Awards are being held this month at Doubletree Hilton, so the best of luck to everyone that entered. And if any of you are taking part in the half marathon, we wish you well; enjoy your day.
Happy Mother’s Day to all of you lovely mums out there and I hope you have a great Easter break. See you all in April.
