MK October 2015
From the Editor
So, October is here and with it the ghosts and ghouls of Halloween. When I was young we didn’t really do much apart from dress up with rubbish plastic masks to go trick or treating; mainly because there wasn’t much on offer in those days. Today it seems to be a massive event with shops offering the most scary and gory make up that any good makeup artist would be proud of! If you’re hitting the streets trick or treating make sure you take care and try not to frighten some of the younger or elderly residents too much!
Before Halloween gets here though, there are three fabulous games of rugby at Stadiummk. Kicking off on 1st October with France vs Canada. However, I am particularly interested in the game on the 3rd – will Japan do it again?! Did you see them against South Africa – what a match! I am also super-proud that the Rugby World Cup has come to our city.
Sue Gilbert from Gardens by Design is back again this month and titles her article My Gardening Roots. In it, she explores her passion for gardening and how it can be traced back to her childhood.
Our fashion expert Cindy Hudson gives us her hot picks for this month, which is fake fur. And just in time, the shops are full of it, so you won’t have any problems with keeping up with the trend.
Jonathon Vernon-Smith from BBC Three Counties looks at employing a tradesmen and not a cowboy. While the motoring pages look at both the Porsche Macan and the Audi A3 Sportback e-tron.
We have some great competitions including the chance to Adopt a Beehive and tickets to The Festive Gift Fair at the Birmingham NEC in November. But my personal favourite is the chance to win a masterclass for two at the Paris House restaurant in Woburn. If you haven’t visited, this Michelin-starred restaurant is only on your doorstep and is in a class of its own. It is absolutely exquisite – you must go over!
So, enjoy the read and if you have any events for November that you’re looking to promote please get in touch. Also please keep in touch with us on social media we’re on Facebook (/PulseMagazine) and on Twitter (@Pulsemagazines) – we look forward to connecting with you.
