NN October 2015
From the Editor
Firstly, I want to say a massive thank you to everyone who has contacted us about the magazine - it is clear that people are enjoying the read and we are so happy with the response and contributions to this next edition - keep them coming!
So, October is here and with it the ghosts and ghouls of Halloween. When I was young we didn't really do much apart from dress up with rubbish plastic masks to go trick or treating; mainly because there wasn’t much on offer in those days. Today it seems to be a massive event with shops offering the most scary and gory make up that any good makeup artist would be proud of! If you're hitting the streets Trick or Treating make sure you take care and try not to frighten some of younger or elderly residents too much!
The Greedy Geezers have a wonderful Indian Pumpkin Curry for you to make this month and I can absolutely tell you it wont disappoint - and it’s a great way of warming up as the Autumn well and truly kicks in. We also have a Pumpkin Soup, which is divine.
Canons Ashby House and Gardens give us a tour of their grounds along with some tips and tricks. So if your garden is getting on top of you and you’re wondering what you should be starting on first then make sure you take a look at their article.
We have some fabulous competitions including the chance to Adopt a Beehive and tickets to The Festive Gift Fair at the Birmingham NEC in November, but my personal favourite is the chance to win a masterclass for two at The Paris House restaurant in Woburn. If you haven’t visited, this Michelin starred restaurant is only on your doorstep and is in a class of its own. It is absolutely exquisite - you must go over!
So, enjoy the read and if you have any events for November that you’re looking to promote please get in touch as our Diary Dates pages are free.
See you all in November.
